Curiosities
- Shinichirō Watanabe, the general director of the series, left the episodes open for experimentation, allowing each director to put their own creative identity.
- Although it may seem random, the series has a strong multiverse concept – each episode can take place in a different parallel reality.
- Episode 20, “The Man Who Fell into the Planet of Feelings,” is often cited as one of the masterpieces of modern anime, featuring a surreal aesthetic and visual poetry.
- The English dubbing was released simultaneously with the Japanese version, a rare strategy at the time, and praised for maintaining the irreverent tone of the work.
- The soundtrack blends jazz, funk, synth, and soul, with tracks composed by artists from different genres, enhancing the atmosphere of a “chaotic space journey.”
