Synopsis: In a futuristic society, Japan has implemented a complex system referred to as "the red wires of science" to encourage successful marriages and combat lower and lower birth rates. Based on a compatibility calculation, young people at 16 receive marriage partners by the government, with serious repercussions waiting for those who disobey the agreement. For Yukari Nejima, a teenager who considers himself average in every respect, this system can be his best shot in living a rewarding life.
However, stimulated by his passion for his classmate and longtime passion, Misaki Takasaki, Yukari challenges the system and confesses his love. After some initial reluctance, Misaki returns his feelings in a moment of passion. Unfortunately, before the two can promote their relationship, Yukari receives their marriage warning. He is then thrown into a confused web of love and mind when his designated partner less than served, Ririna Sanada, is fascinated with her illicit novel.
