In "Kimi no Na wa." (Your Name.), after many plot twists throughout the movie, Mitsuha and Taki finally manage to meet in the real world. They meet in the city of Hida, where Mitsuha lives, and realize that they know each other from somewhere, but can't remember. So, they run after each other trying to remember the name of the person they are trying to recall.
When they finally meet and look at each other, they remember all the memories, including the day of the comet that led to the fall of Itomori, Mitsuha's town. With the help of Toshiki, Mitsuha's father, they both manage to warn the authorities and save Itomori, avoiding the tragedy that had happened in the past.
In the end, Mitsuha and Taki finally meet and recognize each other. Despite all the confusion of feelings and memories, they manage to build a relationship. The movie ends with Taki going to Mitsuha's town to meet her, thus finally uniting their connection.
