Haibane Renmei

Synopsis: Born of a cocoon in the village of Old Home, a young haibane - one with a halo and small gray wings - Awakens to a world she doesn't understand without memories of her past. Named Rakka for the dream of falling that she had inside the cocoon, she soon got used to her life in the strange city. However, there are strict rules for Haiibane, such as being forbidden to leave the village or get close to the walls around. These, along with mysterious disappearances of their type on their "flight day", begin to disturb Rakka and the others, as they know almost nothing about their own species.
Haibane Renmei tells not only the story of Rakka, but also the people around him, because they live their lives without memories of the past as they try to break free from their ancient pain and finally find salvation.
