Genshiken

Synopsis: Kanji Sasahara is an introvert freshman who is looking for a place to fit in. One day he stumbled at the club known as a society for the study of modern visual culture - another known as Genshiken - which serves to bring the full spectrum of Otaku culture together. His first visit to the club, however, does not end well, because Sasahara's pride is crushed by his senior, Harunobu Madarame, and he leaves the meeting in full denial of his nature Otaku. However, after making friends with club member Makoto Kousaka, who turns out to be an Otaku Hardcore, despite his appearance, Sasahara gets more involved with the club's activities, which include obsessing her favorite anime, read Doujinshi and participate in Conventions. There, he meets other interesting people, such as his girlfriend vehemently not Kousaka's Otaku, Saki Kasukabe, who strives to turn her boyfriend into a "normal face."
While Saki struggles to understand Otaku culture and her boyfriend's love for it, Sasahara finds herself enjoying her time in Genshiken, gradually spilling any denial he had to be an Otaku and immerse himself in an Otaku lifestyle.
