Synopsis: Years ago, all the ghosts of a haunted school were banned by a certain student. Now they are back - and they want revenge ...
Satsuki and Keiichirou Miyanoshita are two brothers recovering from his mother's tragic loss. After moving to their mother's hometown, they learn that the local school to which they have moved is an old building - which is said to be haunted. Although initially ignoring it as a silly rumor, the two soon discover that the ghosts are really real and that they are behind them! Gakkou no Kaidan is the scary tale of these brothers' lives and their new friends as they try to survive the school ghosts - with a little help from the pet cat along the way.

- Gakkou no Kaidan, also known as Ghost Stories, was originally an anime of terror released in 2000 in Japan. However, the western version of the anime is completely different, being a comedy full of jokes and pop references.
- The western version of Ghost Stories was created by Adv Films, which acquired anime distribution rights in the United States. Since the original series was not very successful in Japan, Adv Films decided to give full freedom to American voice actors improvising the lines and creating a new story.
- Ghost Stories' western voice acting is famous for its irreverent jokes and cultural references, which often have nothing to do with the original story. The voice actors also used many slang and profanity, making the series quite inappropriate for children.
