Synopsis: Kouhei Araki, Veteran editor of the editorial division of the Genbu Publishing dictionary, plans to retire to better take care of his sick wife. However, before retiring, he must find a substitute to complete his last project: a new dictionary named The Great Passage. But no matter where he may seem, he can't find anyone properly, because doing a dictionary requires a wealth of patience, time and dedication.
Mitsuya Majime works in Genbu Publishing's sales division, but it has bad social skills and an inability to read the climate in most situations. Nevertheless, he stands out for having a word enthusiasm thanks to his love for reading and careful personality. It is these skills that attract Araki to him and lead him to offer a major position in the editorial department of the dictionary. While Majime accepts his new position, he finds himself unaware of his skills and wondering if he will fit his new co -workers. However, amid the vast sea of words, the great passage will gather them.
