Caligula (TV)

Synopsis: What is happiness? Always a fan of psychology, questions like this are those that high school student Ritsu Shikishima likes to reflect while spending their peaceful days with their friends. His perfect world, however, begins to dispose of when he hears a strange voice obscured by static, begging for help. This voice belongs to μ, a beloved Idol Pop, whose singing begins to have an adverse effect on the world. Before Ritsu's eyes, the faces of his friends and family are distorted by flaws while the sound of μ's voice turns them into Digoheads: Furious monsters folded into the extermination of all those who begin to awaken into the true nature of their existence.
Realizing that he is trapped in a virtual world created by μ called Mobius, Ritsu must now bring together all the others who have managed to realize the truth before everyone is eliminated. Together they will use their new powers and weapons granted by their emotions - known as the effect of catharsis - to combat the mysterious group known as the ostinato musicians while fighting to escape.
