Synopsis: Rugby is a sport where anyone can be a star when holding the ball. The rules are simple: a player needs to take the ball beyond the field posts, avoiding the other team, which can use all their strength to overthrow the enemy. However, the player can move to a teammate behind them or kick the ball before they are hit. Unlike other sports, the game continues even when the person holding the ball is knocked down.
Kenji Gion is a short but bumped freshman in the Kanagawa High School. Shortly after the school's opening ceremony, he knows the timid and shy Sumiaki Iwashimizu, and the two receive an invitation to observe the Rugby club.
When Gion watches at the match, he realizes that although large and high guys have an advantage, there are positions for people in all forms and sizes. Immediately convinced that he found a sport in which he can stand out, despite his short stature, he signs up, although Iwashimizu refused. Gion is unable to accept Iwashimizu's excuses and drags him back to the sport. His training becomes intense as he intends to become the Hanazono champion, the National High School Rugby Championship.
