Synopsis: Yukito Kunisaki is on a journey in search of the winged maiden who was linked to the sky centuries ago, after hearing an old childhood tale of her mother. While Yukito shows his puppet show to people in an attempt to earn some money, he is in a small town where he didn't expect to stay long. However, when he meets an unusual girl named Misuzu, things give a drastic turn when he is invited to stay with her.

By staying in the picturesque city, Yukito soon becomes friends with the local inhabitants. As he knows them better, he learns about his problems and decides to help, placing his search for the winged maiden on hold. With her search in wait, and her growing attachment to Misuzu and the small town, will Yukito find the winged maiden, or is she closer than he thought?

Summary and events

At the end of Anime Air, the main character, Yukito, discovers that the girl he was looking for, Misuzu, is actually a reincarnation of an old priesthood that was cursed to never be able to fly. Yukito helps Misuzu break the curse and she is finally able to fly. However, Misuzu ends up dying due to an incurable disease and Yukito is alone again. The anime ends with Yukito leaving in search of a new adventure.
